Frequently Asked Questions
All your questions about Banarasi silk, ordering, payments, shipping, returns, and wholesale – answered in one place.
KashiFab is a Banaras-rooted textile brand and online store for authentic Banarasi and Varanasi silk, brocade, jacquard, and related ethnic fabrics. Our name draws from Kashi, the historic identity of Varanasi, reflecting loom-to-buyer access to weaves that define Indian bridal, festive, and couture textiles.
We work across retail and trade. Customers can shop running fabrics by the metre, sarees, dupattas and stoles, blouse fabrics, suit and dress materials, and occasion-led edits for wedding and festive wear. Boutiques, designers, wholesalers, and manufacturers can also buy in volume through our wholesale and trade desk, with support for sampling, swatches, meterage planning, and export packing.
Our catalogue spans handloom and powerloom programs from the Banaras weaving ecosystem, including Banarasi silk, Katan, Kimkhab, Tanchoi, organza and kora, tissue and zari, satin and meena brocades, and specialty jacquards. Product pages describe fibre, weave character, width, and availability so buyers can source with clarity for stitching, stock, or production.
Beyond India, KashiFab exports silk and other fabrics worldwide for designers, retailers, and bulk buyers. We regularly serve and ship to markets including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, and Japan, along with other destinations on request through our export enquiry and quote process.
Whether you are buying a few metres for a custom piece or planning a wholesale fabric program, KashiFab connects you to Banaras craftsmanship with a clear online catalogue, trade support, and international dispatch.
Depending on current catalogue availability, KashiFab may offer:
- Running fabrics (yardage) such as Banarasi silk, Katan, brocade, organza, tissue / zari, Tanchoi, soft silk, dupion, and related weaves
- Sarees, dupattas / stoles, blouse fabrics, and dress materials
- Occasion-led edits (bridal, festive, everyday)
- B2B / wholesale meterage and sampling support for trade buyers
Product availability, weave type, and meterage change with loom schedules. Always check the product page for the latest description, width, and stock status.
Yes. Our focus is authentic Banaras / Varanasi weaving traditions. Product pages describe fibre, weave character, and design notes to the best of our knowledge. Handloom and powerloom pieces can show natural variation in motif alignment, selvedge, and sheen – that is part of the craft, not a defect.
Zari quality varies by product. Many Banarasi textiles use high-grade metallic / tested zari with a graceful lustre (not cheap plastic imitation shine). Where a product uses pure silver / real zari or a special zari grade, we mention it in the product description when that information is available. If you need confirmation for a specific SKU before ordering, email info@kashifab.com with the product name or link.
Most Banarasi sarees are woven with an additional blouse-length portion (commonly around 0.7–1.0 metre). Exact blouse length can vary by weave and loom. Check the product description; if it is not listed, ask us before you buy.
Silk reflects light differently from most fabrics. Camera settings, indoor vs outdoor light, white balance, and your device screen can all shift how colour appears. Minor shade differences between photos and the physical piece are normal for silk and handwoven textiles and are not treated as defects.
If shade is critical (bridal matching, boutique collections, coordinated sets), request additional photos or a short video under natural light before ordering by emailing info@kashifab.com.
- Handloom: woven on a hand-operated loom; often shows subtle irregularities, richer texture, and longer production times.
- Powerloom: woven with powered assistance; typically more uniform repeats and faster availability for popular designs.
Both can be authentic Banaras products. Choose based on use-case, budget, and the product description.
Yes – many KashiFab listings are sold by the metre (or as stated on the product page). For continuous matching panels (borders, pallu repeats, or large garment cuts), tell us the total meterage and end use so we can advise on continuous length availability where possible.
Custom weaving is possible only on selected B2B / made-to-order enquiries and depends on loom capacity, yarn availability, and minimum meterage. Retail catalogue pieces are generally sold as shown. For custom or revival requests, email info@kashifab.com with references, preferred weave, approximate meterage, and timeline.
Often yes for Banaras weaves that remain in production. Share the product link or photo with us. If the design is still on the loom or can be rewoven, we will share an estimated timeline and price. Pre-order / made-to-order timelines commonly range from a few weeks to several months for intricate work.
- Prefer dry cleaning when needed; avoid frequent washing
- Air the textile periodically and refold so creases do not sit in the same place
- Store in a clean, dry place in breathable (preferably uncoloured) cotton / muslin; avoid plastic for long storage
- Keep away from moisture, direct perfume spray, and harsh sunlight for long periods
- Do not iron directly on heavy zari work; use a cloth barrier on low heat if pressing is required
Browse the catalogue, add products to your cart, and checkout with your shipping / billing details. You will receive an order confirmation by email when the order is successfully placed. You can also create an account to track orders more easily.
Yes. Boutiques, designers, exporters, and retailers can request quotations for meterage, assortments, and sampling. Use our B2B & Export page or email info@kashifab.com with:
- Company / boutique name and country
- Product interests (weave, colour family, end use)
- Approximate meterage or number of pieces
- Target timeline and shipping destination
- GST / trade details where applicable (India)
Sampling may be available for wholesale buyers depending on fabric type and quantity. Sample policies (paid / adjustable against order) are confirmed by email for each enquiry. Retail customers who need shade confirmation should request photos/video first.
Contact us as soon as possible at info@kashifab.com with your order number. We can usually modify or cancel only before the order is packed or handed to the courier. Custom / cut-to-order / made-to-order items generally cannot be cancelled once production or cutting has started. See Shipping & Returns for full rules.
When your order ships, we share tracking details by email (and via your account where applicable). Use the courier tracking link provided. If tracking has not updated for an unusually long time, email us with your order number and we will follow up with the logistics partner.
Checkout supports the payment methods enabled on the Website (typically major cards, net banking / UPI where available, and other gateway options shown at payment). All card and banking details are processed by authorised payment gateways; KashiFab does not store full card numbers on its servers.
Yes. Payments are processed through encrypted, trusted gateways. If checkout redirects you to a bank or payment provider page, that is normal for secure processing.
Wait a few minutes and check your bank / UPI app for any debit. If money was deducted but you did not receive an order confirmation, email info@kashifab.com with the payment reference, amount, date/time, and registered email. Do not place a duplicate order until we confirm the first payment status.
No. KashiFab accepts prepaid orders only. Cash on Delivery (COD) is not available. Please pay online at checkout using the prepaid methods shown for your order.
International deliveries may attract customs duties, taxes, or clearance fees depending on your country’s rules. Unless a shipment is expressly arranged as duty-paid, such charges are typically the buyer’s responsibility. We recommend checking local import rules before ordering.
Yes. We ship to serviceable locations across India and to many international destinations through reputed courier / logistics partners. Exact timelines and charges depend on destination, weight, product type, and whether the item is ready stock or made-to-order. Full details are on our Shipping & Returns page.
As a general guide (after dispatch, not including made-to-order production time):
- India: commonly about 3–7 business days after dispatch for standard serviceable locations
- International: commonly about 7–14 business days after dispatch, subject to customs clearance
Ready-stock orders are typically processed within 1–3 business days. Custom, bulk, or festive-season orders can take longer – we will communicate timelines for those cases.
Because Banarasi silks and cut fabrics are delicate, specialised goods, returns and exchanges are limited. We generally accept claims for manufacturing defects or wrong items dispatched, subject to the conditions on our Shipping & Returns page (including timely reporting and unused condition).
Typically non-returnable (unless we sent the wrong / defective item):
- Cut fabric / running yardage once cut or dispatched as ordered meterage
- Custom, made-to-order, or specially woven pieces
- Products altered with fall, pico, tassels, stitching, or blouse stitching
- Sale / clearance items marked as final sale
- Returns requested only for a minor shade difference visible in photos vs screen
Do not discard packaging. Email info@kashifab.com within 48 hours of delivery with your order number, clear photos of the outer packaging, inner packing, and the damaged area, plus a short unboxing video if possible. We will review and guide you on replacement or resolution.
Guest checkout may be available depending on site settings, but creating an account helps you track orders and manage addresses. Use the same email for support enquiries and order history.
