What is the MOQ for bulk silk?
MOQ depends on silk type, loom booking, and how many colours you lock. We quote a real minimum after the brief. We do not publish a fake one-size number on this page. Tell us target metres and colour count; we reply with what the loom run needs.
Do we have to take bulk before seeing a sample?
No. Lab sampling comes first on custom programmes. Bulk metres start only after you approve shade, GSM, width, and hand in writing. The approved sample becomes the production standard for the lot.
What should we send for a bulk RFQ?
Silk type, design reference or picker direction, target metres, colour count, destination, delivery window, and end product. GSM / width targets and Pantone or swatch references speed the quote. Tech packs help for jacquards.
How long from brief to bulk shipment?
Typical path: brief review in a few working days, lab sample often 2-4 weeks after brief lock, your written approval, then bulk often 4-8+ weeks after approval. Exact windows are on the quote. Rush and multi-colour programmes move these.
Can you hold colour for reorder next season?
Yes, when you reorder the same locked construction and shade standard. We keep programme notes from the approved lab sample so the next lot can match the first, subject to yarn and loom availability at reorder time.
Can one design run in multiple colourways?
Yes. Each colourway is sampled and approved before that colour enters bulk. Multi-colour programmes affect timeline and MOQ. We flag that up front on the quote.
Can we specify usable width and GSM?
Yes. Width and weight targets belong in the RFQ. We confirm what is loom-feasible, lock them on the lab sample, then run bulk to that standard.
Do you ship bulk silk to the US, UK, and EU?
Yes. Export packing and documentation are part of manufacturer programmes. Incoterms, freight path, and lead time are confirmed on your quote for the destination you name.
How is bulk packed for our warehouse?
Cartons carry fibre, colour, metres, and your PO reference on the outside label so lots can be sorted without opening every pack. Inner roll or fold method is confirmed with the programme.
What if we change the design after sampling?
Changes after written approval can move cost and timeline. We treat the approved sample as the production standard. If you need a redesign, we open a new sample step before bulk metres start.
Can we book third-party inspection?
Yes, when your PO requires it. Tell us in the RFQ so inspection booking sits inside the production and ship timeline instead of as a late surprise.
